A marine life raft serves as a floating platform to keep you protected from the elements such as freezing cold water or scorching hot sun in the rare but serious event that you need to abandon your boat. Exposure in open water is a dangerous thing. Most Revere life rafts for sale have a canopy. This provides protection from exposure and can even collect and channel rainwater for drinking. Hypothermia is a concern even though you're inside a marine life raft and you're not actually submerged in freezing water. Sitting in a life raft with an uninsulated single-layer floor can easily lower your body temperature, particularly if you're wet. The insulated floor dramatically reduces the rate of onset of hyperthermia.
