The Switlik TSO-C70a Offshore Passage Raft is engineered for Part 91 operators and designed to meet the rigorous demands of aviation safety. This lightweight, high-performance raft is TSO-C70a Type II approved, offering peace of mind for pilots, crew, and passengers during overwater operations. Its twin-tube construction, convertible canopy system, and inflatable floor ensure maximum stability, protection, and comfort in emergencies, making it the ultimate choice for aviation survival equipment.
Equipped with a FAR 91 Survival Kit, this raft meets essential FAA requirements and provides the critical tools needed for emergency preparedness. With a 5-year service interval and air charge inflation system, it’s built to reduce maintenance costs while ensuring long-term reliability.
The Switlik TSO-C70a Offshore Passage Raft includes all the tools necessary for overwater aviation survival:
FAR 91 Survival Kit Includes:
Q: What is the FAR 91 Survival Kit?A: The FAR 91 Survival Kit includes critical tools like a water bailer, electronic signal flare, first aid kit, signal whistle, and sponge to meet FAA overwater survival requirements.
Q: How does the "Go/No Go" pressure gauge work?A: The air charge inflation system includes a visible pressure gauge that allows pilots to quickly verify the raft's readiness for deployment.
Q: What makes the TSD optional in some models?A: The Toroidal Stability Device (TSD) is an advanced stability system that enhances performance in rough waters. This model comes standard with either water ballast pockets or the TSD for added stability.
Q: How often does the raft need servicing?A: The Switlik TSO-C70a Offshore Passage Raft features a 5-year service interval, reducing maintenance while ensuring long-term reliability.
Capacity
There is no one universal method of rating raft capacities (see here). In fact, there are several different methods and governmental agencies worldwide that rate the capacity of a life raft based on the following criteria: usable floor area, inflated buoyancy, size of an average individual, and their concept of how long someone might be in the raft before rescue, not to mention how you find yourself to be there, i.e. from a sinking vessel or a ditched aircraft.
As a result, SWITLIK takes the position that a life raft's capacity is truly defined by its total size in floor area and inflated buoyancy. How many "people" that translates into depends upon your usage and interpretation of the above criteria. A raft that might safely support 6 or 8 people in an emergency for 24 hours will seem a lot smaller for a transoceanic passage where rescue might be weeks in coming.
1Weight may vary depending upon options. 2Optional Cradle will extend the overall installed height and width dimensions of the Hard Container by approximately two inches. **Specifications are subject to change without notice.
